NWA Trans March
June 24, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm CDT
This will be Arkansas’s first-ever Trans March. Come join this historic event! Dress up, show up, bring signs, speak out!
We are calling for trans, nonbinary, gender variant and gender non-conforming people of all ages, plus family members, friends and allies, to show up and demonstrate that we are a significant and vibrant part of our community. We will march to increase our visibility; to encourage more trans, nonbinary, gender variant and gender-nonconforming people to come out; to build connections; to support one another as a community through all of our struggles; to speak out against violence, hate, transphobia, and the oppression of any and all of us; and to be fabulous and powerful in the company of others.
Northwest Arkansas Trans March is also a protest against Arkansas’ recent passage of the nation’s most restrictive anti-transgender laws and a protest against the continued abuse and neglect of Arkansas’ trans and GNC communities.
Trans March will stage near the Walton Arts Center at West Avenue and Spring Street, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The March will step off at 7:00 p.m. and travel east on Dickson Street, turning south on Block Street, and head toward the Fayetteville Town Center for an outdoor Rally with several speakers.
Due to continued COVID-19 concerns and the nature of the event, NWA Trans March will operate with additional safety precautions by order of the Fayetteville Health Board.
Masks are encouraged, but not required, for March participants or attendees. We strongly recommend if you are not vaccinated that you wear a mask or stay home.
