About Virtual Pride
We had big plans for 2020, but COVID-19 has forced us to flip gears and go virtual! Northwest Arkansas Pride is hosting a series of virtual events on Friday, June 26th, in conjunction with the international Global Pride broadcast. These events bring our LGBTQ community together to celebrate 16 years of Pride in Northwest Arkansas, and to celebrate the fabulous and multi-faceted expressions of our diverse LGBTQ culture.
NWA Equality stands in solidarity with our community and the people across the nation who are raising their voices in peaceful protests against the senseless killing of George Floyd, systemic racism, and police brutality. As we commence Pride Month, we’re reminded as well of the LGBTQ resistance against inequality and the police brutality endured during and long before the Stonewall Riots in New York City. We know that needed change does not come through idle observation but through action.
Events will be viewable through watch parties and live-streams through our Facebook page. The Equality Street Youth Variety Hour, NWA Virtual Pride Parade, and C4 Virtual Pride Drag Show will also be available on our YouTube page.
All 2020 events are free to view, but please do consider making a donation.
